John and Emily wanted their first home to be in a quiet neighborhood where they could lay down some roots, be close to the light rail, and have some yard space to enjoy. I helped them find a classic upgraded brick home on Beacon Hill that they could move right into. For their 5% contribution, they are supporting Community Lunch on Capitol Hill. After getting married and starting out on Capitol Hill, John started volunteering at Community Lunch. "Its really powerful to be able to directly support and heal the most vulnerable people in the community with food." he says. Community Lunch on Capitol Hill has ran this wonderful program on a shoestring budget for 35 years. It helps build empathy and community through service.
