Showcasing Connor's Choice - Living Water International
A year ago, recent college graduate Connor landed his first real job. He lived with his parents after graduation to save up for his own place. I helped him find out that his credit union, BECU, was offering a first-time home buyers down payment assistant grant (not loan) that would get him over the top for a down payment. He wanted to get into the real estate market early to provide a home now and a rental property later. We found a Condo large enough for himself and a roommate. When I asked Connor which charity he would like me to support, he chose Living Water International because it provides life sustaining physical and spiritual water to communities around the world.
Living Water International realizes that water is the source of all sustainable life. It impacts food, hygiene, sanitation, and social and mental well-being. However, 771 million people in the world lack basic access to water. Their approach is to link together individuals, communities, and church congregations to bring sustainable water access, sanitation, and hygiene programs. As followers of Jesus, their concern is for the whole person—physical and spiritual. Through ongoing Christian witness, they know that only Jesus can truly transform people, restore relationships, and heal factors that lead to poverty, hunger, and thirst in our world.
