I helped Sophia and her Mom, Geri find a first home for Sophia in West Seattle. It's a perfect place for her and her dog with easy access to shopping, restaurants and her work. When I asked her what charity she would like to support, she chose Real Rent Duwamish because she said, "It was a fitting choice, as I am now permanently living on their land". The Duwamish have lived in the area known as Seattle since time immemorial. In 1855 when the "white man" made a treaty with the Duwasmish, the tribe of Chief Sealth/Seattle, they did not honor the treaty, nor did they take honorable care of the land and waterways.
