Showcasing Sheila's Choice - World Central Kitchen
Sheila wanted to downsize from the beautiful home where she and her husband had raised their family. She found a new construction site in Mount Vernon near a dear friend that would accommodate her lifestyle perfectly. I helped her sell her Renton home and worked with the builder to get her into her brand new home.
When I asked Sheila which charity she would like me to support, she chose World Central Kitchen. This organization started with a simple idea. "When people are hungry, send in cooks, Today." They are first to the frontlines, providing meals in response to humanitarian, climate, and community crises. Resilient food systems are built with locally led solutions by partnering chefs with the local people. Cooking and eating together is what makes us human. Not only are they are able to feed people affected, but this method is the fastest way to rebuild a sense of community.
