Showcasing Sophia's Choice - Young Women Empowered (Y-WE)
I helped my client Sophia and her mom find Sophia's first home for her and her doggie in the West Seattle area. It's in an area that is close to stores and to her work. When I asked her which cause she would like me to support, she chose three groups. The first group is near and dear to her heart as she is a part of their team, She says, "I'm a little biased; but my team does incredible work centering young womxn of color and creating space for community building through creative/arts and nature-based programs." Young Women Empowered mentorship-based empowerment programs serve diverse young women ages 13-26, and adult women mentors in the greater Seattle area. Each year, their programs directly serve 700+ girls and women and benefit 2,000+ community members. With learning and leadership programs that center marginalized young women, Y-WE provides empowerment programs for young women so that they will become leaders who effect positive change in their communities.
