HOME OF THE WEEK: Pasadena Transitional

I was visiting my brother in Pasadena last weekend for his 50th birthday party. Of course, I’m nowhere near his age… As I like to do when traveling, I went open-housing. My brother lives near the Rose Bowl, and we always admire the homes we can see across on the other side – the grass is always green syndrome – so we decided to take peek at one. James and my niece, Sonia, came along for fun. The neighborhood along Linda Vista Avenue really was pretty. We met Jihad Shakoor who is the agent as well as one of the developers. He was proud to show us around the project he and his team had spent years designing and building. The original house was mostly torn down except for one wall with the wood burning fireplace. They built a spacious light-filled modern Mediterranean gem. They’ve got before-and-after photos on the website. www.1288LindaVistaAve.com

We loved how the entire back wall of the house could slide open to the patio and pool. It was over 90° the day we visited, and the pool looked mighty good to us. The master suite was incredibly big and bright. I could picture the nook opening onto its private deck as the perfect library and quiet reading spot. Anyone looking for a fabulous pad near the Rose Bowl should see this jewel. Listed by Jihad Shakoor – Shakoor Realty. $3,200,000

If you or your friends are thinking about moving out of the area, I can help you find an agent anywhere. I’m always making connections across the country. Just let me know where you’re going, and I can help you find a great, trustworthy agent.
